Dr Shammas is trained in minimally invasive surgery and she is a certified colposcopic for abnormal pap smear and most gynecological procedures are performed laparoscopically (key hole surgery) that means a faster recovery such as:
A-Ovarian cystectomy.
B- Hysterectomy and excision of endometriosis.
She also has a special interest in vaginal and vulva plastics, reconstructive & repair surgery for Obstetric care. Dr Shammas is an advocate of natural birth, and supports women with twin pregnancies, previous caesarean sections and uncomplicated breech presentation to have natural birth. Dr Shammas is well trained in performing a complex caesarean section for breech abnormal placentation such as placenta previa and also has good forceps skill and forceps delivery. In addition to this, Dr Shammas is Conjoint Senior Lecturer in School of Medicine, Western Sydney University.
