High Risk Pregnancy
Many women are fortunate to have a normal, low-risk pregnancy; however, women can sometimes face unexpected complications that can elevate it to a high-risk pregnancy. This includes (but is not limited to) pre-existing medical conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid issues.
Occasionally, there may be a medical condition related to the pregnancy that requires additional antenatal care visits.
No high risk pregnancy is the same and each requires individualised management and care. Dr Shammas is highly experienced in the management of women with high risk pregnancy.
If you are carrying a twin or multiple (more than two babies) pregnancy, then the pregnancy will be considered high risk, meaning you will require extra antenatal visits with Dr Shammas to optimize the babies’ care and support your nutritional needs during each trimester.
